GALA LOSE TO BRAGA

Galatasaray has been defeated by Braga in a Champions League match played at Turk Telekom Arena. Braga won the match by 2-0. This was the second match of Galatasaray in the ongoing Champions League and the team has lost both the matches.

This match was played at the home ground of Galatasaray and more than 46,000 people were in the stadium to cheer for the home team, but, the Galatasaray team disappointed the huge crowd that had turned up. Not even a single Galatasaray player looked in great touch. The Braga players lost a couple of opportunities in the second half; otherwise, the margin of their victory could have been bigger than this.

Ruben Micael was the one who took Braga ahead in the 27th minute of the match. Eder passed the ball to Amorium inside the box who hit a powerful shot towards the goal post, but, his shot was blocked by the Galatasaray goalkeeper, Fernando Muslera. Ruben Micael got the ball on the rebound and he had no problems whatsoever in flicking it into the bottom corner of the net. That was the only goal to be scored in the first half.

In the second half, the Braga players were a bit casual in their approach. They didn’t manage to take advantage of the chances that came their way. The lead of Braga was doubled in the injury time. It was Eder again who set up the goal with a perfect cross. Alan gave the finishing touch with an angular shot into the left hand corner of the net. It was the final nail in the coffin. Just a few seconds later, the final whistle was blown by the referee and Galatasaray lost the match.

Galatasaray’s next match will be a Super Lig encounter against Eskisehirspor K on Saturday.
