Former Liverpool player Albert Riera has heaped praise on the Reds’ current manager, Jurgen Klopp, insisting that the German tactician is a great manager and that he wished he had played under him at Liverpool. Klopp has indeed proved that he is currently one of the best managers around for his exploits at Anfield in recent years and has also earned his status as one of the top managers in the game.

After leaving German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund some years ago and switched to England, not a lot of people would have correctly predicted that he would become champion of not just England but across Europe as well. The former Dortmund boss inherited an average squad when he first joined Liverpool and one of the tasks he had to handle was to get rid of the lackluster players in the squad and also being in those top players who would spearhead the club into title glory.

The football world is currently in loud chaos at the moment and there are a host of reasons for that. The major and most obvious reason is the fact that the European Super League proposal is causing huge division among fans and major football organizing bodies worldwide, including FIFA and UEFA. However, one other topic of concern is Tottenham’s decision to unexpectedly part ways with manager José Mourinho.

The London club confirmed yesterday that they were sacking the Portuguese manager through an official announcement which was made public by the club’s chairman Daniel Levy. Mourinho has now left the club with immediate effect and Ryan Mason has been tasked with the responsibility of taking the players through their drills in training and preparing them for their upcoming fixtures, especially their cup final against Manchester City.

Here is a recap a lot of Albert Riera’s fans may not be finding pleasing. Or to say the least, one they would not be celebrating or excited about. While fans of former footballers around the world would shower praises and encomiums on their favorite players for the playing career they had, the same may not be said about former Spain international winger Albert Riera, and it comes as no surprise at all.

The player himself may also not be fascinated by the fact that it’s the anniversary of the day he decided to hang his boots and quit playing football finally. This is due to the fact that even the playing career was not an enjoyed one, so there’s little or no reason for it to be celebrated in the first place.

Riera Gains Coaching Badges at City

Albert Riera was the former winger of Liverpool and he issued a recent statement about how he supports Philippe Coutinho’s decision to no longer be part of Liverpool team. This he mentioned a few months back when he gave an interview to Goal. Though Liverpool is a big club compared to Camp Nou, Riera feels that it is a good decision to come to Camp Nou where probably individual opportunities are more. Also, as in the case of Coutinho whose performance last season had not been consistent, a move will help him challenge himself and build on his abilities. Riera feels that he is a player who would always be in demand.

Riera is currently completing seasons as a coach and earning coaching badges at Manchester City. He has been a former player of the City and he recently met up with current coaches Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola. The City and its players are currently in a good mood as they train to be ready for the finals of the FA Cup. The players are currently finishing domestic seasons as scheduled for the year.
