Former Liverpool player Albert Riera has heaped praise on the Reds’ current manager, Jurgen Klopp, insisting that the German tactician is a great manager and that he wished he had played under him at Liverpool. Klopp has indeed proved that he is currently one of the best managers around for his exploits at Anfield in recent years and has also earned his status as one of the top managers in the game.

After leaving German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund some years ago and switched to England, not a lot of people would have correctly predicted that he would become champion of not just England but across Europe as well. The former Dortmund boss inherited an average squad when he first joined Liverpool and one of the tasks he had to handle was to get rid of the lackluster players in the squad and also being in those top players who would spearhead the club into title glory.

He did handle the rebuild of the squad and started laying off the players he felt he no longer needed even though it was such a hard thing to do. However, it was very necessary that he had to revamp the squad because only then was he able to turn the Reds into a European force as they won another UEFA Champions League title – their sixth in their history, making them the club in England with the most European titles.

He has also won the Premier League at the club, their first in a little over thirty years, and that’s one of the reasons he is currently loved and adored by the club’s fans. However, this just-concluded season, his side were a shadow of themselves as they had to wait until the last day of the season to secure a Champions League spot ahead of the next season.

But Riera still believes that Klopp is a top manager and is among the best of the best in the world at the moment.
