RIERA BLASTS SPURS FOR MOURINHO SACK

The football world is currently in loud chaos at the moment and there are a host of reasons for that. The major and most obvious reason is the fact that the European Super League proposal is causing huge division among fans and major football organizing bodies worldwide, including FIFA and UEFA. However, one other topic of concern is Tottenham’s decision to unexpectedly part ways with manager José Mourinho.

The London club confirmed yesterday that they were sacking the Portuguese manager through an official announcement which was made public by the club’s chairman Daniel Levy. Mourinho has now left the club with immediate effect and Ryan Mason has been tasked with the responsibility of taking the players through their drills in training and preparing them for their upcoming fixtures, especially their cup final against Manchester City.

The decision and announcement have been a part of some of the ongoing at the club, including the fact that its fans are currently angered by its decision to accept an invitation to be a part of the European Super League’s founding teams.

It was reported that Mourinho was fired because he failed to agree with the club’s decision to join the Super League and refused to take out his players to training, but those reports have been countered. The recent report claims that José’s sacking was a result of nothing else but the fact that Spurs were having a bad run of results. However, that has not stopped Riera from bashing the club’s owner.

Riera said it was stupid to let go of Mourinho before a cup final because he was one of their best chances of getting their hands on silverware this season. He said even if another manager comes in and wins the trophy for Spurs, they still did Mourinho wrong because they deprived him of the chance to add one more trophy to his cabinet.
